I am half Indian, half White-British. I am more fair skinned than I am dark. I think though it is obvious I am half Indian. Sometimes, when I meet someone new, they will ask: \"Is that your step-Dad because he\'s white\" I think to myself it\'s obvious that he isn\'t just because he\'s white does not mean he is not my dad! The other thing is, people have such a shocked look on their face when they find out I am half white. They\'ll say things like: \"But your really DARK!!\" or \"You don\'t look it though because your too dark\" I am more white than dark skinned so I don\'t know what they are thinking. The worst thing is, they always ask: \"Is your boyfriend white\" I feel like saying \"Well no actually he\'s blue\" When I reply that he is, they once again act shocked, saying things like \"But your part Indian, don\'t you have to have an arranged marriage and shouldn\'t you be dating ONLY an Asian guy\" But then they have seen my parents together so I am constantly thinking WTF. These are University students as well! Is this just stupidity or what?
What do I say in response to these ridiculous comments and remarks. I am truly fed up with it, having to answer questions like this. It\'s a sign of ignorance, stupidity and sometimes slight racist remarks.
Any advice or tips would be appreciated! Thank you!
